Choose Jesus

As I sit in our little library this morning praying for God to give me wisdom and direction, I realized there is so much more to us than being a Farm family. We are perfectly imperfect followers of Christ. We live by His good Grace and blessings every. single. day.

Our family consists of six very different personalities, insights, talents, gifts and struggles. We bring each other down and bolster one another. We are horribly and beautifully REAL.

I could tell you all about our Bible time together and alone… I could give you every “how to” I’ve got but, it would not tell you the whole story.

Do you know Jesus? It’s Christmas time here on the Farm. All of the butchering and harvesting is done for the year and the Farm is being cleaned up little by little in preparation for our heaviest winter months upcoming. But, in December, our thoughts turn to our Savior… and how much we need Him.

Almost every man, woman and child can tell you about the birth of baby Jesus in a manger in Bethlehem but, how many of us know the man that the baby grew to be?

I turned fifty-two on my last birthday. I committed my heart to Jesus when I was nine years old and, let me tell you, I am still learning! Thank God, He has not given up on me!

The first four books of the New Testament in the Bible tell of the story of Jesus’ birth, life, death, burial and resurrection from the perspectives of four men… Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These books are nothing short of life changing! The recounting of Jesus’ life and the revealing of His character through these books are the pathway to salvation.

Would you read them? Would you open your heart to Jesus and allow Him to speak truth into your life and change you? Following Jesus is an exercise in trust but, He has never lead me down a crooked path to pain like I have lead myself down far too many times. He knows what’s right for me even more than I know it for myself. He has painted so much beautiful in my life, how could I deny him?

Will you choose Jesus today? It isn’t too late. God can and is waiting to renew and repair you! He wants to! When the bottom has fallen out of everything… every opportunity, every relationship, every crooked path, Jesus is still there and He still wants you! Choose Jesus. He has most definitely chosen you.
